Client:

National Multifamily Housing Council and the National Apartments Association

What they do:

A coalition of public policy groups that support the apartment housing industry while advocating for a variety of policies, including the expansion of the affordable housing supply in the U.S.

Project info:

Rising building costs and regulations created a looming apartment housing shortage. But policymakers don’t realize that millions of Americans call Apartments home, sweet home.

My role:

What better way to show my audience of policymakers and constituents that millions of Americans call apartments homes than by borrowing from the commonly understood visual language of kitschy, cringey cross stitch art you’ll find in homes across the country? I used a unique art direction and language for messaging coming from this industry to capture attention, and surprised the audience with the facts and figures that will inspired action on the issue. I learned how to cross-stitch for this campaign. All of the artwork are authentic and hand-made.
