BAF Technologies Website

BAF Technologies suffered from the inexplicable condition that a lot of high-end tech companies suffered from. Advanced products, but a behind-the-times website. For a company that turns existing vehicles into automobiles and equipment that runs on clean natural gas, their site was cluttered, clunky and deprecated. My task wasn’t going to be easy. Not only would the new BAF site have to be easy for both customers and investors, but it would have to convey cleanliness, professionalism and expertise. It would also have to translate a great deal of technical jargon into a simple, clear message–all without muddling the technical nature and science of the product.

First, I boiled down everything they wanted to say to their visitors on their first visit down to two things: why they should choose the company and why they should choose clean natural gas. With a message this simple, their visitors were free to discover more detailed information in the rest of the site, the blog, or invited to request more information.

Second, I cleaned up the website as much as I could. I tried to tell a story with what little space we have that might entice visitors, and made the typography and imagery as clean and serene as possible. What I discovered in the process is that when it comes to topics like natural gas, the last thing you want to imply is clutter and congestion. I took this thinking and applied it to BAF Technologies’ Twitter and YouTube pages as well.
